Vegan Pretzel Bites and a Visit from a Dutch Friend

This title is deceiving because these two things did not happen at the same time. My very good friend from Holland did come yesterday and spend the night with us. But then she left. And then I made the Pretzel Bites. Sorry Floor.

I hadn’t seen Floor (that’s her name, I’m not talking about a floor, she’s Dutch, duh) in almost 4 years which seems like madness. But she is one of those friends where you pick  up where you left off the last time you saw them. I love those friends. I also love technology, which allows us to keep in touch without sending smoke signals.

She also made us the most AMAZING dinner last night. I didn’t take a picture of it because I was trying to stay out of the kitchen. But she does have a blog, and you should totally check it out. Yeah, I’m talking to you. http://florentinevschaap.wixsite.com/myguiltycravings

Anyways, sadly, she’s gone now, and I’m back to aimlesley standing in the kitchen.

I had to figure out what to make for my husband, his 2 brothers, and my son, for a snack, because heaven forbid they go between lunch and dinner without some sort of substance.

Vegan Pretzel Bites

One of my sisters, Heather, sent me the link for these Vegan Pretzels Bites the other day. She wanted to know if I could test them out and let her know how they were. The men did not know this was a vegan recipe. They still don’t. They never will.

These bites were so tasty and didn’t resemble a vegan dish at all. The dough was just fresh, pre-made pizza dough. The dip was just dijon, yellow mustard, maple syrup and hot sauce. So, really, I wouldn’t call this vegan at all. But my vegan sisters can eat them. I’m confused now.

Pretzel Bites with Mustard

The guys ate all these. About 24 pretzels bites. Big bites. And then they ordered 2 large delivery pizzas. What? Yeah, see what I’m working with here?
