Do you ever have one of those days where everything just goes perfectly? Today was that day. And it’s mother’s day. Fitting, Very fitting.
Mark made the whole day about me. It was great. Can everyday be about me? I mean seriously how cool would that be?
He started by making me breakfast in bed. Aka coffee, and berries with whipped cream on top. Which, honestly, I think I’m gonna start eating every morning. Then he went to Walmart to find a wagon, which he couldn’t but he came back with the cutest cards. Then he took Cooper and I to a fun new spot for brunch, which was bomb, and Cooper made like the smallest mess ever. Score.
After brunch we went to the beach for 4 hours where we met a couple friends. Not only did I get to tan, but I got to sit there, and talk, in peace for the ENTIRE 4 HOURS. If you have a kid you know how abnormal this is. Cooper is nuts at the beach. The kid has no fear. And he has more energy than anyone in the world. IN THE WORLD. Anyways, Mark watched him the whole time. This is a better present than diamonds.
We stopped at the grocery store on the way home (Cooper sporting only a diaper, and crusty salt water hair, hello Florida), and we all shopped together. For some reason this seemed like so much fun to me. I’m not entirely sure why.
We got SO much food to grill. Tuna Steaks, Chicken, Eggplant, Corn, Sliced Mushrooms, Portobello Mushrooms, Salmon Burgers, Veggie Burgers, and Potatoes. We basically just bought the whole grocery store is what I’m saying.
We came home and Mark started grilling, Cooper was running around in the backyard gnawing on some corn, all while listening to some country music. Perfect moment.
Our friend Sarah came over for the insane feast once Cooper went down for bed. Which ended the perfect day.
I’m pretty sure the most perfect part of the whole night though was having enough leftovers to last us a week. No cooking dinner or making lunches in the near future. Good luck topping this next year husband. Pressure is on.
